I met a friend today for a walk. She said: “I still haven’t had time to set up a blog… but I really need to make extra money.” And honestly… That’s where most people get stuck. Not because they don’t want it, but it feels like too much to start. So I said something simple. Don’t start a blog. Write a newsletter. You can set the blog up later. Your newsletters can become your blog posts. (yeah, did you know that? Please take a look at my blog; you can see all my newsletters automatically posted there. Then I can take that and share it on FB.Pinterest, wherever, and drive more traffic to it, cool, eh? ) My blog: https://outandbeyond.com/ Then she said something that a lot of people think: “But I’m pretty average… what would I even write about?” So I asked her: “What do you enjoy?” She said: “I like running… but I’m not elite. I just like being outdoors.” So I asked: “What did you do this week?” She told me she went running in the sun…to train her body to handle the heat. And I said: That’s your email. I imagined I was her, and this is what I would email my subscribers: TARGET AUDIENCE/ EMAIL SUBSCRIBERS :
I would write an email like this ..... You just need to share what you’re doing, your authentic human experience Because someone out there is thinking: “How do I run in the heat?” You’re not writing for everyone. You’re writing for someone just a few steps behind you. Now you’re probably thinking…
I’ve got you. My training covers all of it. And for the next few days, it’s 50% off with code: JUSTSTART Bonus: If you take it, write your first email before the end of the month, and send it to me… I’ll personally review it and give you feedback on how to monetize it and make it more engaging! (This is something I normally charge $500 for.) Before you go… I am really curious What’s actually stopping you from starting your newsletter? Just hit reply and tell me I read every response. Hi there, If you are like me when I started, trying to figure out all the 'admin' you need to do before you actually start your business might actually put you off starting entirely! Bank accounts, tax, legal compliance! O_OMost online business owners think about legal compliance the same way they think about going to the dentist. They know they should, they keep meaning to, and they assume they'll deal with it before anything goes wrong. The problem is that legal blind spots don't announce...
I recently talked about how 3 months after having a baby, I was allergic to the word 'hustle' and bros living in tree houses in Costa Rica's microdosing on magic mushrooms... You can read about it here if you missed it I realize now, I was burnt out and I lost all motivation for work (and life actually, not to sound dramatic) I would wake up, tired, and have no desire to do anything. Nothing seemed to bring me excitement anymore. It felt pretty bleak :( I started to question if I should burn...
Thanks to everyone who sent super supportive emails on the new snail mail club! It's been so much fun, you can see the progress here! I also ecently received a lovely IG post from a student about SEO; the same day, Google announced a radical change in its strategy. You can read about it here Ironically, my Google traffic is growing despite doing nothing different, apart from optimizing the same way I did 4-5 years ago! And interestingly, my blog's revenue has picked up recently too- weird eh?...
